Salo Restaurant OS is an offline-first restaurant POS and operating system for independent restaurants, cafes and food halls in the Philippines. Every table shows its state, so the host, waiters, kitchen and owner see the same room.

7:42 PMOrder and kitchen
Capture the order once
A waiter takes the order, or the table orders by QR. The order is saved on the device first, then sent. It is captured once.
- Order. Table 6 turns Ordering on every screen.
- Kitchen. Each item goes to its station on the kitchen display system or printer, with a running timer.
- QR ordering. Guests can scan the table's QR code to order and call a waiter, with no app and no account.
7:46 PMThe storm
When the internet drops, nothing stops
When the internet drops, each Salo device keeps taking orders, printing tickets and accepting cash on its own, saves every action locally, and syncs it once the connection returns.
Offline. Each device keeps working.Every action is saved on the device that took it.

- Ticket #0414 printed
| Task | Offline | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| Take orders and add items | Keeps working | Saved on the device right away and queued to sync. |
| Print kitchen tickets and order summaries | Keeps working | On a printer the device can reach over USB, Bluetooth or the local network. |
| Take cash and record counter payments | Keeps working | Cash is always available. The bill closes on the device. |
| See table timers and the floor | Keeps working | As this device knows it. Other devices catch up after reconnect. |
| QR Ph payments | Waits for internet | Never marked paid offline. Paid only after the provider confirms it. |
| Guest QR ordering and waiter calls | Waits for internet | Needs internet. Guests order through staff until it returns. |
| Owner reports and menu changes | Waits for internet | Update after the devices sync. |
| Kitchen screens receiving orders from other devices | Needs Branch Hub | Needs the planned Branch Hub. Until then, print from the ordering device. |
The honest limit. During an outage, devices do not share orders with each other yet. The reliable path to the kitchen is a printed ticket from the device that took the order. Branch Hub, our planned fix, is not available yet.
7:51 PMReconnect
Back online in under 30 seconds
When the connection returns, each device sends its backlog in order and pulls whatever changed on other devices.
- Saved on the device first. The screen updates right away, online or not.
- Sent with a unique ID. If a weak connection sends it twice, the server records it once. Retries cannot create duplicate orders or payments.
- Caught up on reconnect. The backlog goes out in order.
- Conflicts are shown, not hidden. Staff resolve them. Nothing is quietly overwritten.
Back online12 actions synced in 18 s. 0 duplicates.
7:58 PMSettle
Close the bill in cash, card or QR Ph
The cashier closes the bill in cash, card or QR Ph. Cashless is marked paid only after the payment provider confirms it.
Cash always works, even offline. QR Ph, which guests pay with GCash, Maya or their bank app, waits for the internet and is never marked paid offline.
Salo prints order summaries, not official receipts. Keep your current BIR-registered invoicing for that.

8:20 PMSalo Inventory
Know what should be on the shelf
Salo Inventory deducts ingredients by recipe when an order is fired, so you know what should be left on the shelf before you count it. It is the inventory system for restaurants that already runs inside service.
- Recipes with portions per menu item, for recipe costing
- Low-stock alerts before service, not during it
- Every correction is recorded with a reason. History is never edited.
